Creation in order to escape from tight control? Behind the lens, the eye of the mother

The study of the relationship between daughters and mothers during adolescence leads the reader to explore a particular case concerning different forms of control from the perspective of a photographer mother—Irina Ionesco—who envisaged her daughter, Eva, becoming a model. This psychoanalytic narrative, while taking into account the trajectory of an outraged childhood, tries to approach the narcissistic issues of a mother-daughter psyche, where we point out the extent to which a child, in order to fill in the gaps of the maternal psyche, may end up renouncing her personal identity in order to reduce herself to the reflection of the other’s desire.
