Gender identification and “trans identity”: a metapsychological approach
Type de matériel :
2
From a classical viewpoint, transsexuality or “trans identity” is considered as a manifestation of a serious personality disorder, known since 2013 as gender dysphoria (DSM). However, it seems that people with neurotic psychological functioning might also seek gender reassignation. They do not identify with their own anatomical body but nevertheless are creative, can love, work, and master everyday life. The author contributes with a meta-psychological reflection about the origin of gender identification in order to understand this fact.
