The Transformation of Suffering in the Mother-Baby Dyad in the First Year Postpartum: Preventative Strategies for Work in a Network

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2007. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This paper studies the efficiency of a network between France’s Protection Maternelle et Infantile and perinatal psychiatry in diffusing the baby’s suffering. The signs of suffering of 52 dyads attending a community “well-baby clinic” are assessed immediately after birth, at three months, at six months, and at one year using a twofold methodology: scaled with standardized instruments (EPDS, ADBB, PIPE) and clinical (inspired from infant observation according to Bick and interviews). The efficiency depends on a mixture of devices that allow successive interventions in primary and secondary prevention and then in a psychotherapeutic engagement. The problem of recognizing suffering is discussed, as well as the strategic benefit of the longitudinal monitoring of dyads.
