Using their experience of ethnopsychoanalytic consultations within the Bluets Maternity-Hospital (Paris), the authors examine the importance of culture in psychological care, especially in the perinatal phase, when the early child/parent relationship seems difficult to establish in a context of migration. In a three voices exchange between an obstetrician, an ethnopsychologist and a MCH doctor-anthropologist, this article reflects on this aspect of early prevention in the perinatal phase. Their approach is influenced by G. Devereux’s complementary methodology and is revealed here in all its logic. The authors apprehend the human being in all its complexity: its psyche in interaction with its cultural world-reference. The clinical example of this analysis will base itself on the notion of singular child to unravel the nature of complex kinship relations.
