Over the last few decades, young women’s sexual behavior in the developing countries has become an increasingly important focus in reproductive health programmes. Looking at Haiti for example, nearly 35% of young women there have 2 or more sexual partners, with the negative consequences that can be imagined both for the women concerned and their entourage. The present article seeks to identify the various socio-economic factors that influence multiple sexual partnerships among these young women. The data used derive from the latest Demographic and Health Survey (2017) and were subjected to univariate and multivariate analyses through a logit model. It emerged from these analyses that “place of residence”, “level of education”, “religion”, “standard of living”, “access to the Internet” and “marital status” variables are the key factors in explaining this phenomenon.
