Résumé Le monothéisme, impensable sans la traduction des Septante, a pour lieu le monolinguisme grec. Mais la traduction des « écritures » dans la forme du livre marque aussi la genèse interminable du monothéisme et le jeu de sa structure. C’est pourquoi les stratégies d’appropriation d’Abraham par les religions « monothéistes » sont abyssales : le patriarche est introuvable, comme ce qui revient au père, aux juifs, et aux autres. Nietzsche : l’analyse de la transformation du Dieu-peuplé en un Dieu universel et la mort de Dieu en tout sens. Une telle mutation du divin sous-tend la naissance du christianisme, comme du monothéisme, elle signifie la perte de l’idée d’élection. Le monothéisme, expression, sur le plan de la transcendance, de la vie politique et de la politique de la vie, est inséparable d’un retrait de la foi et d’une avancée de la croyance, mais aussi de la substitution de l’idée d’« égalité » à celle d’« élection ». Pas alors de démocratie peuplée sans une écriture qui s’expose, telle celle de Nietzsche, à ne plus appartenir simplement au monothéisme du livre, c’est-à-dire à se laisser traverser par une vérité plurielle et différente.

Monotheism, which is unthinkable without the translation of the Septuagint, has as its locus Greek monolinguism. But the translation of the « scriptures » in book form also marks the interminable genesis of monotheism and the workings of its structure. This explains why strategies to appropriate Abraham by the « monotheistic » religions lead to the abyss : the patriarch cannot be found, as also what is due to the father, to the Jews, and others. Nietzsche : analysis of the transformation of the God peopled into a Universal God and the death of God in all senses. Such a mutation of the divine subtends the birth of Christianity, as with monotheism. It means the loss of the idea of the chosen or elected. Monotheism, expression on the transcendental plane of political life and the politics of life, is inseparable from a withdrawal of faith and advance of belief, but also the substitution of the idea of « equality » for that of « election ». There can then be no peopled democracy without a writing that exposes itself, as that of Nietzsche, to no longer belonging simply to the monotheism of the book, meaning that it allows itself to be traversed by a plural and different truth.
