La réalité psychique propre à la clinique institutionnelle a été tout particulièrement soutenue et développée par Jean-Pierre Pinel. Dans cet article, l’auteur, après quelques mentions de ses contacts avec lui, analyse son dernier texte sur les enveloppes institutionnelles. Au préalable il montre comment la conceptualisation des enveloppes suit celle du cadre avec les travaux notamment de Didier Anzieu et René Roussillon. Jean-Pierre Pinel a d’abord analysé les processus des équipes à partir du cadre institutionnel, en prolongeant notamment les travaux de René Kaës et de Jean Claude Rouchy. Dans son étude des enveloppes des institutions accueillant les pathologies limites il développe une perspective métapsychologique. Son apport pourrait s’étendre à l’ensemble des institutions en envisageant cependant ces enveloppes comme de véritables formations psychiques en rapport avec le cadre institutionnel, ce qui permettrait aussi de penser la transmission institutionnelle.

The psychic reality specific to the institutional clinical work was particularly supported and developed by Jean-Pierre Pinel. In this article, after mentioning his contacts with Pinel, the author analyses his last text on institutional envelopes. He begins by showing how the conceptualization of envelopes follows that of frames, with the work of Didier Anzieu and René Roussillon in particular. Jean-Pierre Pinel began by analysing team processes from the perspective of the institutional framework, building on the work of René Kaës and Jean Claude Rouchy. In his study of institutional envelopes for borderline pathologies, he develops a metapsychological perspective. His contribution could be extended to all institutions, however, by considering these envelopes as genuine psychic formations in relation to the institutional framework, which would also make it possible to think about institutional transmission.
