La voie XXI de l’ Itinéraire d’Antonin est une des plus complexes à comprendre. Son tracé zigzagant a été l’objet de polémiques. Cette étude propose un certain nombre d’hypothèses de correction d’un texte corrompu en se basant sur une comparaison avec les voies qui l’environnent pour mieux comprendre son tracé original. Les limites provinciales jouant un rôle important s’avèrent être compliquées, mais elles sont examinées ici dans leur rôle d’influence sur la perception de l’espace et sur l’imbrication du système viaire en lien avec l’administration provinciale dans cette zone.

The Problems of the Route XXI from the Antonine Itinerary and the Limit between Baetica and LusitaniaOne of the most complex roads of the Iberian Peninsula quoted in the Antonine Itinerary is the so-called road XXI. Its route in a zig-zag movement has been a polemical issue. In this study, I show the problems of this text according to its route and the roads in the surrounding area linked with it. Then I provide a new hypothesis of correction. The provincial limit between Baetica and Lusitania is linked with this text and this has a central role for its comprehension. For this reason, I also take into consideration the spatial perception of this road and the imbrication with the road system and provincial administration of this area.

Una de las vías del Itinerario de Antonino que es más compleja de entender es la llamada vía XXI. Su trazado zigzagueante ha sido objeto de polémica. En este estudio planteo una hipótesis de corrección analizando los problemas que ocasionaron la corrupción del texto, la comparación con las vías de su entorno y la solución que permite comprender su trazado original. El límite provincial en la complicación y problema juega un papel importante y se examinan del mismo modo su influencia en la percepción espacial y su imbricación con el viario y la administración provincial de esta zona.
