Cet article se situe dans le champ d’étude sur les groupes à médiation thérapeutique d’inspiration analytique et se propose de traiter la question importante des conséquences dans un groupe du dysfonctionnement du cadre sur les processus psychiques et thérapeutiques attendus. Que se passe-t-il lorsque le déroulement d’un groupe à médiation thérapeutique – son cadre, ses règles – est modifié, ajusté, transformé, voire détourné ou perverti ? Que se passe-t-il lorsque le non-processus se « déguise » en processus ou devient lui-même processus ? À partir de l’analyse d’une impasse concernant un groupe à médiation Photolangage® en milieu institutionnel, la présente contribution aborde la question de l’impact de ces variations imprévues du dispositif et des perturbations conséquentes dans les fonctions contenante et conteneur, fondamentales pour le bon déroulement du groupe et du processus thérapeutique.

Process and non-process in a Photolangage© groupThis article looks at therapeutic mediation based groups and proposes to address the major issue of the effects induced by the dysfunction of the setting on the expected psychological and therapeutic processes within the therapeutic group. What happens when the workings of a group based on therapeutic mediation, with its setting and rules, is modified, adjusted, transformed, or even diverted or distorted? What happens when the non-process “disguises” itself as a process or itself becomes a process? Starting out from analysis of an impasse in a Photolangage© mediation based group in an institutional context, the question of the impact of these unexpected variations of the provision and of the considerable disturbance in both the container and containing functions, that are fundamental for the appropriate development of the group and of the treatment process, is addressed.
