L’article propose une interprétation théorique du processus de rupture entre les attentes créées par les conversations sur les applications de rencontres et le moment du premier face-à-face. Cet effet est connu par les utilisateurs de ces applications. Néanmoins, il a été moins analysé dans la littérature. Dans un premier temps, l’auteur analyse le processus de désillusion à l’ère de la rencontre en ligne. Ensuite, à travers la phénoménologie sociale et la sociologie interactionniste, l’article présente une interprétation de ce phénomène d’une part par les dynamiques de la rencontre en ligne qui commence dans la sphère des contemporains pour avancer vers la sphère des consociés, selon la théorie socio-phénoménologique et, d’autre part, par la production d’une identité virtuelle qui nécessite confirmation dans la réalité hors ligne, selon la sociologie interactionniste.

The article offers a theoretical interpretation of the process of a break between the expectations created by conversations on dating applications and the moment of the first face-to-face meeting. This effect is well known to users of such applications. However, little analysis of the phenomenon can be found in the literature. The author begins by exploring the process of disillusionment in the age of online dating. Then, adopting a social phenomenological and interactionist sociological approach, an interpretation of the phenomenon is advanced, firstly through the dynamics of online dating (that begins in the sphere of contemporaries and moves towards the sphere of consociates according to socio-phenomenological theory) and, secondly, through the production of a virtual identity that requires confirmation in offline reality according to interactionist sociology.
