The notion of spatial justice was developed by Anglo-Saxon radical geography in the 1970's. Today it is often used in different contexts, mostly within the field of urban studies. The central idea in this paper is to demonstrate that a revisited form of the concept of « spatial justice » may be used to promote interaction between the very diverse contemporary approaches of geography at every scale. The theoretical background of political philosophy is presented first, we then elaborate on the use of this concept in geography. Finally, we explore the application of spatial justice to the field of spatial planning and territorial governance.
