This paper aims at confronting the Kojevian theme of « the Disappearance of Man at the end of History » and the Foucaldian theme of the « Death of Man ». This comparison allows one the displacement from Kojève to Foucault as regards the theoretical frame of their thoughts about Man, and also to emphasize the contrasted effects of the Hegelian reading of Kojève on Sartre and on Bataille.
