Sociology, Philosophy: Modernity in Question
Type de matériel :
77
The collaboration between sociology and philosophy is required because of the difficulties encountered in grasping the meaning of the term modernity, beyond the philosophical criticism that a postmodern viewpoint has assigned to it thus far. These limitations show that sufficient consideration was not given to its social genesis, or to the sociohistorical conditions of its advent. A new consideration emerges as soon as we take into account the work of social sciences to redefine the cardinal concepts of subject and power in their modern form. One can then take stock of the influence of the political sciences in the field of political philosophy.
