The article analyses the way in which the conceptual apparatus of the dynamics of action allows us to understand the internal actions of living bodies. By identifying the distinction between violent action and formal action, we are able to grasp the process by means of which the experimental field can be considered as a mode of knowledge of the living that can handle the uncertainty of knowledge. The notion of moral certainty then allows us to understand a Leibnizian conception of the evolutive dimension of a knowledge founded upon experiment.
