This third installment devoted to the “Kületpe Texs,” excavated in 1948, consists of two parts. The first and main part is the presentation of the volume Kültepe Tableteri XI-a, by Hakan Erol, published in 2018 and containing 182 texts belonging to the archive of Šu-Ištar, son of Aššur-bāni, which was excavated in 1992. This first part describes the archive, its dates, its owner, Šu-Ištar and his family, his commercial relations, and his business. It then presents a selection of “interesting passages” from his correspondence, followed by corrections and proposals for new readings. It ends with a list of the Assyrian words and expressions found in the texts. It is followed by an addendum on KT 6 (presented in RA 114 [2020], 207ff.), because its final and fifth volume (KT 6-e) was only published by the Türk Tarih Kurumu in 2021. The second part gives some brief information on those still unpublished archives about which we know more thanks to the few overviews and transliterations that circulate among Old Assyrian specialists. It ends with a more detailed analysis of the texts excavated in 1949 (kt b/k), found in various houses, which was triggered by the publication in 2018–2019 of thirty-two new records from this large group of 839 texts. Questions were subsequently raised about their archival background, dating, and find-spots—points not discussed by the authors and about which the excavation report is unclear.
