The international circulation of sexual identities is partly linked with commercial sex. Bodies do not travel alone but carry with representations and identities. Based on an ethnographical fieldwork conducted in a Thai red-light district dedicated to foreign visitors, this article aims to analyze the influence of tourism in the international circulation of sexual identities. I particularly concentrate on the development of a gay “identity ” and its links, not exclusive, with the development and rationalization of a sex industry devoted to Western gay male customers.
