What Provision is Made for Young People within Family Planning Policy in Cameroon?

Young people aged 15-24 years are at risk of unsafe sex in Cameroon. Early sex and childbearing, clandestine abortion, and the risk of HIV-AIDS infection are all threats to their health. This article reviews political and programmatic choices made by decision makers in this field and seeks to analyse how the sexual and reproductive health needs of young people are taken into account within family planning policy. The context is such that policies, mentalities and behaviours regarding sexuality and fertility evolve at different rates.
