Can the PREAUT grid identify at-risk siblings of autistic children as early as four months old?

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Recent studies have shown that early intervention with infants at risk of autism may change the prognosis. The PREAUT grid is a tool for screening autism risk as early as four months old. It has been assessed in two published studies, one in the general population and another in a small sample of infants with high autism risk (West syndrome). Our prospective research project aims to specify how accurately this grid is able to predict the outcome (autism or developmental delay) in a specific at-risk population: infant siblings of children with autism. The clinical issue at stake is to be able to offer a very early preemptive intervention for siblings who are screened as positive, which could have a significant effect on their future.
