Feminist struggles and the struggles of women for gender equality have sparked a series of international measures that go back over half a century, aimed at fighting discrimination. Thanks to social struggles, these have been ratified by Brazil and have led, over the course of the past twenty years, to the adoption of numerous tools for the promotion of gender equality. However, as this article shows, the legal provisions in question are not enough to cancel out the inequalities weighing upon women’s professional lives.
