This article proposes to focus on the question of truth based on a case of psychological assessment. The child’s word was initially considered and denounced as false, before evolving significantly from the mid-twentieth century. Parallel to these developments, the entry of the subject on the judicial scene in reference to psychoanalysis sheds new light on the question of truth by giving the symptom a privileged place. It is from this truth of the symptom that the subject will seek to know a little more about what has surpassed them. We will bring some elements of theoretical understanding to the treatment of truth by psychoanalysis, before focusing on the case of Margot, a young teenager who, in the light of her subjectivity, extracts a truth that speaks from her lie.
