Judging against oneself. Perceptions of “judgment bias” among trainee judges and prosecutors.

Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : As part of a training course at the ENM in Bordeaux, judges and prosecutors from the Judicial Humanities Section conducted a survey of the 2020 and 2021 classes of trainee judges and prosecutors in order to see what perceptions they have of “judgment bias”. 549 trainees completed the questionnaire that was sent out. The analysis of their responses reveals how they define the notion of “bias”, whether they think that they have already been personally confronted with biased decisions and the solutions they envisage to limit its impact. The inter-disciplinary reflection on the results obtained offers some new avenues for training that the ENM could offer.
