The indications for group mediations often have different causes: difficulties in talking about oneself, poor elaboration capacity, difficulty in coping with the intensity of the dual relationship. . . Thus, transference in the group is diffracted and helps alleviate the emotional charge. Among the various mental processes at stake in therapeutic groups using expressive mediation, what are the effects of listening to the suffering of others? The group offers a containment function, a place for subjectification, and it facilitates a wide range of identificatory supports, as well as the possibility of creating links in order to come out of the state of withdrawal.
