So-called normal sexuality appears as natural to some, as holy to others, or merely as primary. This article will first show how the Freudian conception of sexuality helps to deconstruct this sexual norm. What precisely is the gesture and what name should be given to the Freudian act of deconstruction? Yet sexuality is a field like no other. The author shows how the fact that Freud followed this sexual lead and questioned its norms led him to two massive contributions. The first was the proposal of a theory of the normal and the pathological unprecedented and unknown. The second was the discovery that working on sexual norms makes it possible to identify the function of the norm on a broader scale. The author shows how the sexual norm is different to other norms, but that it can show us the truth about norms.
