Cutting Gendered Bodies: Anatomy or Ideology?
Type de matériel :
84
The Freudian conception of gender distinction has two distinct logics; one of them, which emphasizes the decree of anatomy, postulates an existential vision. It is quite different when, in Moses and Monotheism, Freud describes the preference given to the father as a power of the “mind,” coming from a “decision” inscribed within a “turn” in the historical future. In the second approach, each gender can be considered as redesigned by the cultural versions given by succeeding civilizations. Those versions will impose on each gender either symbolic promotions or mutilations affecting the feminine and the masculine differently.
