This article deals with the methods of a supervision approach known as « institutional ». The authors are cosupervisors in a professional Master’s degree program which trains people in intervention and analysis of practice. We place the emphasis on what transpires within the group process as subjectively experienced by the students while they are running their own groups of analysis of practice, and on its echo in the here-and-now of our supervision group. First, we briefly present the overall scope of the training and the principles we subscribe to. Then, we describe the particular features of our program and the kind of psychical work that we feel emerges from it. The end of the article is devoted to our own personal comments. By showing how events occurring during our coleadership which were reminiscent of our own histories of conflict and suffering, particularly touched us, we highlight what distinguishes our leadership and what we pass on to others.
