The article offers an empirical study on RM/ISS, the most complete and widely used database in both the academic and business worlds to deal with these issues. The reliability of scores and metrics depends on their capacity to incorporate a large set of criteria, and the firm’s economic sector appears as the most decisive element in the interpretation of the link between governance and performance.
