The bureaucracy facing social workers for asylum seekers and unaccompanied foreign minors: Pressures and resistance

This article describes the difficulties that social workers face as they support asylum seekers and isolated foreign minors. I offer a description of the situation based on my own experiences as a lawyer specializing in the rights of foreigners. The establishment of an official policy in France, which is increasingly hostile to the rights of these groups, has shaken the convictions of social workers, who have been led to reshape their practice and, above all, have resolved to follow their personal and professional ethics.
