Inclusive schools and people supporting students with disabilities: The current state of research

We take stock of international research into human assistance, the institutionally advocated means of compensating for the repercussions of disability and benefiting the schooling of these pupils. The presence of people who, depending on the country, are called assistants, paraprofessionals, or aides, is much appreciated by teachers. However, research does not confirm this assumption. In fact, the AESH often acts as a screen for the classroom learning of the pupils they support.
