A number of studies have examined the link between the construct of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and organizational performance. This paper examines EO specifically in the context of SMEs by exploring the relationships between EO and innovation activities using an in-depth review of the extant literature and survey data. Data were collected from 165 Brittany SMEs, focusing on two intersecting questions: Does the construct cover all components of innovation activities, from R&D to new marketing methods? And is the construct mainly uni-dimensional or multi-dimensional? We found support for the concept of a uni-dimensional entrepreneurial posture, noting that it promoted every kind of innovation activity. JEL: M13, O32, M21
