Going to see someone
Type de matériel :
28
We’re all forthcoming about paying a visit to our cardiologist, dentist, osteopath, or rheumatologist. In contrast, what’s left unsaid in “going to see someone” is all the more explicit, since we all know what’s being referred to: this “someone” is immediately identified as a “shrink.” How are we to understand this voluntary anonymity in an age when high-tech, high-performance medicine is leading to the taylorization of care? This indefinite pronoun covers a broad spectrum of meanings, from the undifferentiated object to the other recognized as the chosen object of the encounter.
