Self-Construction through Language

In contrast to the usual studies on adolescent speech, which are either linguistic or psychological/psychoanalytic, this paper proposes an original approach. It connects the transformations of puberty, the psychic upsets, and the new semiotic forms that appear during the teenage years in the field of behavior (at-risk behaviors) or language (oral inventions, self-actualization of writing). This approach offers a new insight and should be effective at improving programs to prevent health risks.
