Adolescence and Emotion: A Bodily Experience
Type de matériel :
51
To speak about adolescence and its feelings, means undoubtedly to consider the relationship that the adolescent develops with himself, the undergoing body change and his way of connecting with others. The violence of the feelings he is subject to (love, hatred, boredom, anger, fear, sadness, shame, guilt, bewilderment) is the visible sign of the violence of the transformations that he undergoes. These feelings show the intensity of his sensitivity and the intensity of the juvenile metamorphosis that he is going through. During adolescence, more than at any other time of life, emotions need to be worked through, to be integrated so as to give meaning to what is happening and to have this integrated in a subjective narrative.
