A pediatrician presents two clinical cases of adolescents with diabetes. The first patient successfully manages his treatment and lifestyle changes, while the other one has difficulties dealing with condition-related constraints and treatment adherence. Using those two clinical cases, a psychologist working in the pediatric field tries to highlight the psychological, social, and family difficulties diabetic youngsters may face and the impact these have on managing their illness. This paper examines the question of the awkward place of the parents and of the doctors of diabetic adolescents.
