The Relation of the Voice to Touch and Intra-uterine Experience

As a central personality trait, the voice is at the heart of communication: it represents the body of the verb, expresses the non-verbal aspects of communication, and transmits the emotions. According to this paper, the voice is closely linked to the touch and to the first intra-uterine world experience, organized by the touch/release rhythm. These psychoanalytical hypotheses will be viewed in light of the recent discoveries in the neurosciences, language sciences, and development psychology.
