Silliness or Self-construction

Silliness is too often overlooked by clinicians and yet is of the same value as the spoken word, as much in its exploratory dimension as in its provocative one, but also from the point of view of memory. « Silly words » construct the subject in writing it into both his personal and family history. Paraphrasing Cioran, we might say, not about failure but about silliness : « Bless my silliness ! I owe it much of what I know of myself. »
