The Syndrome of Hikikomori in Young Japanese People: Syndrome, Posture or Imposture?
Type de matériel :
61
The Hikikomori syndrome, a form of severe social withdrawal in teenagers and young adults has recently been described in Japan. The diagnosis and the sociocultural determinants have been discussed, between psychiatric syndrome and social posture, to the point of thinking that it could be a question of a culturally conformist syndrome. Nevertheless it could be considered as a developmental step. Social withdrawal appears more and more frequently in clinics and mobile psychiatric teams could have a role to play in evaluating the difficulties of adolescents holed up at home.
