Parents faced with the problematics of transgender in a child or adolescent adopt very varied reactions, from guilt to violent rejection, from resignation to support, and sometimes even a disconcerting acceptance which can precede and amplify the needs of their child. My work with these families does not consist in designating the reasons for the questioning of gender, but in creating a space for listening and supporting these young people for whom a risk of suicide is particularly strong.
