Program for Progressive Treatment of Learning Difficulties: Pilot Experiment, Paris Health and Success

Thirteen years after the Plan of Action and its real progress, not everything has been resolved. Failure in school is getting worse, and requests for the treatment of children with learning difficulties and multidisciplinary assessment in Referral Centres for Learning Difficulties (crta) are no longer in tune with the offer. Putting in place a cross-cutting prevention program for school, then staged treatment depending on the gravity of the disorder and its evolution, is required. The coordination of learning responses and treatment, which is a factor for a better efficiency, must be developed. The pilot experiment of Paris Health and Success (psr) is a research and action program financed by the city of Paris and aimed at developing and assessing in a disadvantaged environment the progressive and coordinated program adapted to the needs of the children. It is coupled with the project “Prevention of Learning and Reading Difficulties” put in place by the State Education Academy for Paris schools.
