This article explores breathing movement as a metaphor of the individuation/ separation process in adolescence. We will see how the attention paid to breathing in Eutony can become a form of mediation within a psycho-motor therapy. We will tackle the question of the quest for identity implying a process of loss. How can a space for elaboration be created while one is experiencing painful transformations in the body? Can one transform oneself without taking the risk of losing or letting go of something? With the help of clinical vignettes, we will describe how to make use of this inner expressivity (tonicity, breathing, mental images, etc.) to enable the adolescent to take possession of his own process of change.
