The group “Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes”, which meets every Thursday afternoon at the Center for Perinatal Psychopathology in the Boulevard Brune, Paris (cpbb, Sainte-Anne Hospital Center), regularly brings together a dozen or so mothers and their babies under one year of age. The group is open to everyone, without prior inscription or consultation. The mothers and the babies come to share songs, nursery rhymes and first readings suggested by the speech therapist, paediatric nurse and psychologist who run the group with the aim of breathing new life into their personal and private repertoire and, by means of this mediation, of supporting the skills of their baby and enriching their early interactions. This regular and caring structure helps to support mothers and babies during this sensitive period when parents are in danger of retreating into their difficulties, and to assist them in gaining acces to treatment if necessary.
