Multifamily psychoanalysis, which consists in bringing together several patients and their parents with cotherapists, is still little known in France. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the promotion of this new therapeutic approach in adolescence, for this set-up contributes to the different operations which lead to withdrawing investment from the parental objects, who are paradoxically in their presence.Drawing on inter- and transgenerational material and on the interplay of identifications between the participants, we show how multifamilial assemblies stimulate associative capacities, internal conflictuality, as well as the redeployment of the libido on to objects of substitution. Our contribution aims, in other words, to promote the inclusion of the parents in a therapeutic group for adolescents.
