Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : In preparation to a future research project aiming to produce a better understanding of the father’s involvement in children psychological consultation, this qualitative and exploratory research examines the experience of seasoned clinician regarding their work with fathers. This research uses the Grounded theory and 8 research interviews were conducted and qualitatively analysed. As well as identifying multiple specificities and issues pertaining to fathers in the consultation context, this research reveals that the knowledge relating to the clinical work with fathers is in a pre-conceptual state. In fact, the clinicians seem to rely on their clinical experience and intuitions rather than theorical concepts. A conceptual model of the father’s place and role in the consultation context is proposed, a model in which the father acts as relational third party in alliance with the therapist.
