The juvenile penal justice code, which came into force on 30 September 2021, aims to improve the treatment of juvenile delinquency and criminality. Among a multitude of new or simply updated measures, two of them are particularly worthy of attention: the definition of juvenile discernment and the penal caesura procedure. An elucidation of these elements may be useful with regard to providing treatment for this specific section of the public, namely, minors who commit sexual offences.
