Mobility and Leisure Practices of First-Year Students. The Case of the University of Créteil

This article deals with first-year students of Université de Paris-Est Créteil in the literature, language and humanities faculty. It focuses on their mobility and recreational activities, comparing these to the situation of the students of university Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. This study is focused on the differences and the similarities of the recreational activities among a socially heterogeneous population of students. These students depend financially on their parents but nonetheless appear to be very independent in their recreational activities, and prone to use public transportation. These students, many of whom come from working class families, develop a variety of recreational activities.
