Type de matériel :
TexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2016.
Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : One of the most important musical manifestations in Brazil over the course of the last few decades, Manguebeat or Manguebit, has its roots in Recife, the capital of the state of Pernambuco, and expanded throughout the early 1990s. Utilizing the notion of a musical scene, we underline the composition of Manguebeat, based on the articulations of subjects from different places in Recife, an urban agglomeration historically marked by socio-territorial inequality. We present a research methodology founded on the collection of primary sources, through interviews and visits. We demonstrate that the Manguebeat scene has strengthened the cultural dynamic of Recife, and the appropriation of the city through cultural production. With the study of Manguebeat, we contribute to the debate on the links between cultural production and urbanization in contemporary times.
