Starting with the use of quotations in articles and works of psychoanalysis, the death or the disappearance of the author (subject of debate in the late 1960s) is considered in light of the Lacanian thesis of the degenerescence of the master-signifier, its effects of shame and impudence, and its impact on psychoanalytic publications.
