Lacan at secondary school

Freud’s impact on French culture is in part due to his presence as an “author” in the Baccalaureate syllabus –as well as his talents which can be called pedagogical. What about Lacan? Lacan so vigorously opposed psychoanalysis with philosophy, the professor with the teacher, and his idea of the School with the school of the Republic that one wonders whether the same rigour –somewhat turned upside down– could not render services to a school in crisis. Because Lacan, the anti-pedagogue, was a great teacher who shed light on the question of desire and knowledge. Philosophy teachers in secondary schools, often forewarned against his texts, could lay claim to him instead of being afraid of him.
