1. The living body implies the refusal of the body reduced to its needs; this is what makes the body necessarily connected to the unconscious and the political.2. The living body is inscribed in the structure of the act of language; this is what makes it function according to the jouissance principle rather than the pleasure principle.3. The body can be revealed as One; but this apparent unity hides the dimension of the Other, in which the living body finds its truth. These three theses will be developed from the reading of the lesson of May 10th 1967 of Lacan’s seminar.
