Opening with a short historical review, this paper subsequently deals with a clinical and theoretical misunderstanding which is not devoid of consequences: child psychosis is recurrently misrepresented, and the delusion is mistakenly taken for an excessive imagination; moreover, the often spectacular effect of speech is misleading with respect to diagnosis since it implies a switch to neurosis as well as an ending to the treatment which is mostly damaging as to its outcomes.
