This paper offers a perspective on the letters of Kafka to Milena on the mother-son model and the effects of their meeting in Gmünd when Kafka feels released from obsessions with sexual memories. Then, it examines the letters from Kafka that cause Milena to have feelings of guilt. After that, it addresses Milena’s correspondence with Max Brod when Kafka leaves the ghostly aspects of the letter to devote himself to literary work. This paper ends with a biographical excerpt by Margarete Buber-Neumann covering Milena’s relationship with Kafka and men.
